about the creator

Anh Huynh is an undergraduate student at the University of California, San Diego, currently studying Sociology with a double minor in Business Economics and Design. While she has relocated several times throughout her life, ceramics has been a stable art form that she takes comfort in.

She was first formally introduced to ceramics in 2015, when she took her first course in Newtown, Pennsylvania. After moving to southern California, she continued to develop her skills in another year-long class. When there were no more available classes to take, she asked if she could come in and use the studio after school—with her teacher’s approval, she came in nearly every day for as long as she could. She shared her art with her family, and even taught her friends how to throw on the wheel as well. Her journey in art seemed to be over when she graduated from high school in 2019 and moved two hours south for college. Fortunately, she was able to continue pursuing her passion at an independent studio nearby, two years later. She continued teaching others, often sharing her love for the art form on social media.

Encouraged by friends and family to sell her work, “studio anh” was born. Anh’s work includes functional stoneware and porcelain pieces, made with lots of love and care.
